چکیده

Abstract We study the dynamics of electroweak symmetry-breaking in an extension of the Standard Model where the Higgs sector is augmented by the addition of a real (Y = 0) isospin triplet. We show that this scenario exhibits a novel, two-step electroweak phase transition, wherein the first step provides the strongly first order transition as required for electroweak baryogenesis followed by a second step to the Standard Model Higgs phase that also admits a cold dark matter candidate. We analyze the constraints on this scenario from recent results obtained at the Large Hadron Collider for the Higgs diphoton decay channel. We argue that this two-step scenario can be generalized to extensions of the Standard Model with additional higher-dimensional scalar multiplets that may yield realistic baryogenesis dynamics.

The phenomenology of the electroweak symmetry breaking sector is expected to involve resonances decaying preferentially into heavy fermions. Three recent CDF analyses are reviewed and used to constrain Higgs and Technicolor models.

Partially composite 2-Higgs doublet model

In the extra dimensional scenarios with gauge fields in the bulk, the KaluzaKlein (KK) gauge bosons can induce Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) type attractive fourfermion interactions, which can break electroweak symmetry dynamically with accompanying composite Higgs fields. We consider a possibility that electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) is triggered by both a fundamental Higgs and a composite Hig...

Phenomenology of Mirror Fermions in the Littlest Higgs Model with T-Parity

Little Higgs models are an interesting alternative to explain electroweak symmetry breaking without fine-tuning. Supplemented with a discrete symmetry (T-parity) constraints from electroweak precision data are naturally evaded and also a viable dark matter candidate is obtained. T-parity implies the existence of new (mirror) fermions in addition to the heavy gauge bosons of the little Higgs mod...

Phenomenology of the Littlest Higgs with T-Parity

Little Higgs models offer an interesting approach to weakly coupled electroweak symmetry breaking without fine tuning. The original little Higgs models were plagued by strong constraints from electroweak precision data which required a fine tuning to be reintroduced. An economical solution to this problem is to introduce a discrete symmetry (analogous to R-parity of SUSY) called T-parity. T-par...

Higgs Boson Theory and Phenomenology

Precision electroweak data presently favors a weakly-coupled Higgs sector as the mechanism responsible for electroweak symmetry breaking. Low-energy supersymmetry provides a natural framework for weakly-coupled elementary scalars. In this review, we summarize the theoretical properties of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson and the Higgs sector of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Sta...
